Summer may be slowing down, but the amount of family fun to be found around town certainly isn’t. From golf extravaganzas to plays in the park and outdoor movies, we’ve lined up a weekend full of activities and events your crew wont want to miss. Read on to find out more.

Youth Progress 12th Annual Golf Tournament

2021 Golf Tournament joins Youth Progress for the 12th annual golf tournament! Enjoy golf, lunch, paddle raise, raffle, and games. Your generosity helps to provide educational coursework, safe housing, training, employment, mental health therapy, and on-going support for the young people we serve. Event Details.

Romeo & Juliet

The Capulets and Montagues hate one another. Romeo (Montague) sneaks into a Capulet party and meets Juliet (Capulet). They marry in secret. Juliet’s cousin challenges Romeo. Romeo kills them and is banished. Juliet fakes death. Romeo doesn’t realise, takes poison, and dies beside the “body.” Juliet wakes and commits suicide by dagger. Original Practice Shakespeare Festival’s production of Romeo & Juliet is a free event for all ages! Event Details.

Movies on the Deck – Dirty Dancing

No one puts Baby in a corner. But we are going to put our movie screen on the corner of our deck so you can watch Dirty Dancing under the stars! Join us for our Movies on the Deck on Friday nights in August. The movie will start just after dusk, so bundle up or bring a blanket. It will be shown on the deck and our Paradise Grill will be open for snacks. Join us for a fun night of movie watching with this family favorite under the stars at Mt. Hood Meadows! Event Details.

9 Hole Par-3 Tournament Fundraiser

Buzzy’s Bees invites you to the 5th annual Golf Tournament fundraiser! Join as they raise money to support families experiencing the unexpected loss of a child. They’re holding a nine hole Par-3 competition and then a mini-golf tournament + luncheon party (see seperate event listing). Awards given separately for both tournaments, so pick your style of golf or join for both! Event details.

Dinosaurs of Antarctica

Mutts on the Mountain

The Oregon Humane Society (OHS) and Mt. Hood Meadows invite all outdoor-loving people and dogs to Mutts on the Mountain! The event, located onsite at Mt. Hood Meadows, is an outdoor festival with fun for people of all ages. Guests can relax and listen to live music from Jenny Lee, enjoy food and tasty beverages, as well as peruse vendor booths. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day-of, and include one raffle ticket; children ages 5 and under get in free. All event proceeds will benefit the animals at OHS.

Special festival activities include doggie sno-cones, a cooling station, raffle prizes, kids corner, and more. Guests and their dogs can also explore the mountain: there are three self-guided hiking trails open to people and their dogs. Event Details.

Visit the Original Pumpkin Patch

U-Pick season is open at  The Original Pumpkin Patch, where you will find the Big Red Animal Barn, which typically has goats, rabbits, and perhaps a turkey or peacock or two. It’s sure to get an excited squeal out of your little one. But, that’s not all this special spot has to offer. There’s a coffee cart that will help you perk up if you are wearing down and a market, gift shop and even a patio cafe. Event Details.

Twelfe Night (Abridged)

Orsino loves Olivia (unrequitedly). Twins, Viola and Sebastian, are shipwrecked. Viola cross-dresses, works for Orsino, and Olivia falls in love with her/him. Olivia’s dr-uncle and friends trick Malvolio into thinking Olivia loves him. Olivia (confused) marries Sebastian. Twins reunite, Malvolio’s gulling and Viola’s gender are revealed, Orsino proposes to Viola. Original Practice Shakespeare Festival’s production of Twelfe Night (Abridged) is a free event for all ages! Event Details.

Loves Labour’s Lost

Forgetting the French Princess is arriving soon, King Ferdinand and friends swear off women, the courtiers are smitten. Letters are sent and confused. Berowne reasons ways out of the oath. The French court departs, but will return in one year to marry the King and courtiers… if they prove worthy. Original Practice Shakespeare Festival’s production of Loves Labour’s Lost is a free event for all ages! Event Details.
