My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 27 of 52

Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:

Remodel The Kitchen

The HH was able to get in touch with the electrician {who installed the special plug for my kiln} and so he’s set to come out in 2 weeks to take a look at everything.

Once he does his bit {moves outlets, install a new plug for the stove} then we’ll rip out what remains of the wooden backsplash, repair the walls and paint! A day or two before the cabinet guy comes out, the HH will rip out the rest of the cabinets and then the fun {no sink!} begins. 🙂

Yee-Haw. We’re getting close.

Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove {$21,833.70 of $22,000 earned so far}

I sold another of my *new* finished pieces {new pieces are marked with *** at the end of the listing} in my Etsy shop this past week and now I only need to sell $166.30 more in new pieces to reach my goal!!! I am SO CLOSE! 🙂

Fill the Canning Cupboard

It’s filling up! This past week I added strawberry lemon jam, and some more dried chives to the shelves. I’m waiting for a deal on stew meat so we can make another batch {or two} of beef stew

So far this year I have canned:

Not canned, but in jars:

Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.

I think I’ll just have to wait until things calm down before I list my beach finds.

Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.

This past week we enjoyed fresh radishes from the garden and fried cabbage with weenies.

Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room.

It was another successful week keeping my craft projects out of the dining room. Plus, I hung a few of The Girl’s watercolors on the wall. 🙂

Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup {DONE}

It was a good experience, and we’re going to do it again next year {although I would like to find a few more trees to tap so our yield is a bit higher}.

Make a Quilt Top

If only I had Cinderella’s mice who sewed while I slept.

Be More Intentional With My Time

We made a planned stop at a local yard sale yesterday and scored big {or at least I thought I did anyway, the HH said it was all junk}.

  • 3 chicken feeders $2.50 {Maybe chickens are in my future?}
  • 5 vintage frogs $15 {I’m going to re-sell those on Etsy}
  • 3 vintage small shovels $10 {I’m going to re-sell those on Etsy}
  • 2 plastic planters $2  {I’ll plant them with lettuce or bush beans}
  • 2 brownie pans $0.50
  • 1 apple peeler corer slicer $4 {for The Girl}

1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 25 craft/blog free days this year so far.}

The HH and I took the day off yesterday and had a great and free adventure. 🙂 I’ll tell you all about it soon.

Keep My Husband Busy

It was another busy week for the HH.

He finished stacking all the wood, did some work on the car, called people, and ran all the errands. Nothing too exciting, but all the stuff I didn’t want to do so it was a success if you ask me. 🙂

The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022

  • Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
  • Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyard DONE
  • Build a new set of stairs down to the water.
  • Fill the field {with soil} DONE

  • Sand the floors in the entire house DONE
  • Install new garage door openers {new addition}

My House Projects For This Year {so far}

I still need to paint the back of the house! But I’m spending so much time in the garden these days… I can’t seem to get anything else done.

Things I need to get done this year:

  • Finish painting the outside of the house
  • Finish painting the inside of the house
  • Make something to hang above our new console table
  • Make it look like people actually live here HA HA HA
  • New window treatment for the kitchen window

Try 24 New Recipes {14 down, 10 to go}

This past week I canned strawberry lemon jam. 🙂

So far this year I have shared the following recipes:

Listen to 12 Audiobooks {11/12 so far}

I finished Wilding: The Return of Nature to a British Farm by Isabella Tree and also picked up Cooking Light’s Annual Recipes 2008 from the library sale table for $1.00. Lucky for me, the previous owner already tagged all the good ones. 🙂 Now, I just need an OVEN so I can make them.

Audiobooks I’ve listened to this year:

Get a Fishing License and Catch a Fish

But first, we have to get the dinghy in the water.

HH if you are reading this HURRY UP and get us some fishing poles!!!

I’m starting to give up hope on this one.

My List of Garden Projects For This Year I want to Accomplish

My current garden project is keeping the baby turkeys away from the garden!!! We had 26 babies in our yard on Friday. Seriously, who needs a tv when you have a backyard like ours. It’s like having the nature channel on 24/7.

One of the goals on my list this year is to grow 500 pounds of food this summer. So far we’ve harvested 12 pounds 1 ounce.

  • Cabbage 10 pounds 9 ounces
  • Radishes 9 ounces
  • Broccoli 3.5 ounces
  • Lettuce 5.5 ounces
  • Chives 6 ounces

Also, the new broccoli, boc choy and carrot seed packets I wanted to try in our fall garden arrived the other day. Apparently Yod Fah broccoli is supposed to taste like a cross between asparagus and broccoli. Has anyone grown it?

  • Map out this year’s garden by April 1stdone
  • Plant apple or pear treesdone
  • Plant raspberry and blueberry bushes  done
  • Plant asparagus and rhubarb done
  • Grow 500 pounds of food
  • Expand the lasagna garden We created a new garden plot instead done
  • Finish clearing the front of the property
  • Get some garden pots for the front an back patio/porches

Create 12 New Rug Hooking Patterns and/or Kits Done! {26 out of 12 finished so far}

So far I’ve added 26 new patterns to my Etsy shop this year! 🙂

I’m taking a break from creating any new patterns this week and working on a one of a kind rug I’ve had floating around in my head for the past couple of years. I think it will be fun to see how it turns out. And, I love that it’s one of a kind and won’t be made again.

New Rug Hooking Patterns/Kits For 2022

Have All My 2022 Ornaments Finished by April 1st. Done!

I’m done with garden markers and ornaments for the year. Yipee!

We walked the Rockland Breakwater this week. 🙂 And it was lovely.
